Residencies are for 2 months or more at Nes.
The first month of residence can be very much about finding your feet, soaking everything in, and navigating the area, to understand yourself and your work here.
Residencies for 2 months or longer enables artists to experience the site more in depth, make solid networks or connections, and create relevant, substantial, and more articulated ideas or work.
1 month applications are only accepted in very special circumstances.
We are also encouraging process based, research, or study residencies. Complete or finished works do not have to happen here.
If you rely on grant funding:
Your grant outcome must be known 3 months before your residency starts. Please ensure you check with funding bodies about when you will hear the result of your funding application. Nes does not offer grants or scholarships. All residencies should be secure, paid, and final 3 months in advance.
