Group/Short Residencies

The old fish salting house in Skagaströnd is undergoing major renovation and Nes is now offering year round residencies to groups with or without studio space. Artist collectives, university groups, writers retreats, art classes, performance teams  and other arts organisations that wish to collaborate on projects or work together on common goals/themes can now apply.  We are also offering shorter residencies to single artists who are looking for 2 – 4 week stays and require no studio space.  Renovations will be completed by the end of 2017 and start date for residencies is from January 2018 onwards.

Salthús situated high at the edge of the sea features  uninterrupted vistas over looking  Húnaflói Bay out to the Westfjords.

Once renovated, the building will provide accommodation with 14 rooms.   Nes Listamiðstöð will occupy the top floor with underfloor heating and offer 7 double rooms each with private bathroom plus shared kitchen/laundry facilities to art groups and organisations.    Each double room is more than 16m2 and will have queen size bed, desk and casual seating area.   These group residencies are  for a duration of 2 or 4 weeks and possibly longer by negotiation.
