There is no store in Skagaströnd that sells art supplies. We therefore recommend that you bring all the materials that you need for your artwork.

There is a woodshop and metal shop in town that you can buy some materials and get scraps from. Blönduós also has a hardware store.

As for sculptors and artists that like to use recycled materials there is plenty to be had at the two dump sites close to town and the dumpsters in town.

For those who want to buy artist materials in Reykjavík there is a very good art supply store in the middle of Skólavörðustígur (the road that leads up to the church and statue of Leif the Lucky) called Litir and Föndur. You can place an order with them and have it sent to Nes.

As the studio space is a communal area we ask that you not use turpentine or any other solvents giving off strong odors.
Please use lamp oil or linseed oil instead to mix colors and lamp oil or biodegradable brush soap to wash brushes.
