Pei-Fen Hsu is a Taiwanese female poet and writer. Her earlier work focuses on intimacy, emotional experience, psychosomatic conditions, and the ways individuals struggle to adapt to the world. In recent years, she has begun using research and writing experiments to explore disaster, memory, and how language works in extreme situations.

During her residency at NES she is developing two workshops: Poetry Pharmacy (an interactive poetry format adapted from her earlier residency experience at Taiwan Literature Base) and Retreating Language (a site-responsive concept developed in response to the sparsely populated surroundings of NES). Both workshops use participatory methods to explore how poetry is used across different contexts.
