Cristián Salineros develops his work based on sculptural thinking as structural thinking, understood from a contemporary perspective in relation to our own behaviors, space, landscape, architecture, and construction methods, linking issues essentially related to space and building relationships between human beings, their environment, and spatial policies.


He graduated in Fine Arts, Universidad Arcis, Chile. In 2003 he received the DAAD Academic Interchange Scholarship, Master in the Kunstakademie of Düsseldorf, Germany. Solo exhibitions: Göttingen Kunstverein, Germany, Joachim Gallery, Germany, 713 Gallery Contemporary Art, Argentina, Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, DKM Museum, Germany, Patricia Ready Gallery, Chile, D21 Art Project, Chile, SP-Arte (solo Project) Brazil, MACO (solo Project) Mexico, El Museo Gallery, Colombia, NC-Arte Fundation, Colombia, Museum of Visual Arts UC, Chile. He has received several distinctions such as: FONDART on six occasions, Amigos del Arte award on two occasions, Altazor award in 2003, Ministry of Public Works on five occasions.


He has participated in Biennials and residencies, including the Biennial Paiz Guatemala, Biennial of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, the Biennial Révélations / Le Banquet, Grand Palais, France and residencies at the Mosam Art Museum, South Korea, Museum of Modern Art MAM, Chiloé, Chile among others.
He is currently Associate Professor at the UC School of Art, and coordinator of the International Guest Artists Program at the same School of Art. See less
