NES operates an open plan shared studio, located in the old fish factory.
Group or Short Stay Residencies
NES is now offering short-stay and off-season residencies to art collectives or student class study abroad programs.

NES beachball workshop with Hofðaskóli students.
USA artist Melinda Hoffman, brought to the residency 98 beach balls for the local school children to paint and draw on. It was a hands-on fun workshop enjoyed by all. The art teacher Kristabörg Dúfa Ragnheiðardóttir, the artist Melinda Hoffman and the children were all interviewed and televised in the national TV program Landinn. NES artist gifts violin to music school.
Canadian Musician Lara Kroeker, who is at NES for 2 months donated a violin to the music school – Tónlistarskóli A-Hún as a token of gratitude to thank the community of Skagaströnd for the warm welcome!
NES artist gives calligraphy workshop.
Taiwanese-born NES artist WenShi Harman delivers a fun Chinese calligraphy workshop on traditional red paper made from rice and cotton to local Hofðaskóli students. The students practiced painting symbols that mean: Forever, Great Luck and Spring.
