Claudia Goulet-Blais is a Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist whose research focuses on social relations, grief and self-discovery, where she learns about herself through personal experiences as well as relationships with people and her environment. She constructs images based on her gendered behavior and body language to communicate her internal state. Her interest in feminist theories, particularly in regards to public and private space, and Mary Russo’s concept of “The Female Grotesque” influence her work.

Claudia graduated in 2021 with a double major in Photography as well as Visual Arts and Art History during her undergraduate degree at Concordia University. She co-founded the collective Colure, which has since curated exhibition and publication projects, and she has also worked for the Concordia Fine Arts Student Alliance (FASA). Recently, her work has been exhibited at Somewhere Gallery (Montreal), Ada X (Montreal) and featured in the Art Matters 2021 festival publication. She also has three years of professional experience at OPTICA, a non-profit organization focused on exhibitions and mediation.
