Artist-in-Residence Giordano Cioni (@giordano.cioni) is an Italian artist working across sculpture, film, and photography, exploring Western symbolism, ritual, and myth through a queer lens.
Part of their practice investigates landscape as an archetypal force; a symbolic space charged with elemental presence where mythological narratives can unfold.
During the residency at Nes they are developing 𝘌𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘳𝘬𝘰𝘮𝘢 (“Return”), an experimental short film recounting a journey of psychological transformation through dance, landscape, and sound, investigating how inner change can be mirrored by the raw elemental qualities of the Icelandic terrain.
