During my residency at NES in Iceland, I created a multi-disciplinary body of work inspired by the Icelandic landscape of Skagaströnd. Through video, drawing, and ceramics, I explored the temporal nature of the environment and the relationship between natural and human-made elements. Hand-built ceramic stones reflect textures and colors of rocks and large-scale drawings represent my daily observations. Lastly, I created an installation of video of captured moments of movement and sounds of water over rocks along the shoreline. The manipulated video is shoreline projected onto handmade ceramic stones. Together, these works form a cohesive narrative of my observations of Skagaströnd landscape.
