Sagardía was born 1978 in Asunsción, Paraguay. In his compositions, Sagardía deals with the philosophical definition of music, its notation, its performing and expressing values, and its character of being a pure matter of bodyless event. He further combines this artistic approach with different media like film, video, theater, and language.

During his stay at the NES Artist Residency, which was made possible through a scholarship by Künstlerhaus Lukas, he first finished a composition for saxophone player Ruth Velten, called „Rückkehr in die Nacht“ (Return into the night). He now works on the preparation of interviews with people from Iceland for a short documentary for which he is going the write the music, performed by the german/icelandic ensemble Adapter.
