Sandy Pratten was director of her own landscape design business. She has lived in rural NSW and now in Sydney, Australia. A guide and tour leader for international tours for Royal Botanic Garden Sydney has meant visiting exotic places. An environmentalist, an artist and passionate about travelling and exploring new landscapes, she is interested in the sense of place in a country and the culture as a whole which contributes to the land use.
To be at NES, in friendly Skagastrond, sharing the expansive studio space with fun, creative people is exceptional. I feel fortunate to be resident in this remarkable country which is inspiring for all the senses. I hope to capture the beauty of its unique nature. I prefer abstract which I see already made here. Every patch is a painting in Iceland for it is like no other place. The joy of painting day after day is a treat.
