Jay and Karrie Stemmler, potters from Indianola, Washington, were artists in residence at NES during October 2024. Throughout the month, they hosted two workshops for children from Hofðáskóli. The children had the freedom to explore the clay and create their desired pieces, all while receiving guidance through demonstrations and step-by-step instructions. Additionally, the older group enjoyed demonstrations and hands-on experience with the potter’s wheel, which was thrilling for many students who truly loved the opportunity.
